What You Need To Know Before Diving
It’s true that some of us have mistaken diving as a part of swimming, thus, leads to fear for those who don’t know how to swim, they would be like, “No way, I’m going in that water,” Well, here’s something you should know before you start reading the tips and guides, diving is not swimming, when you’re diving it’s important that you are in fact, sinking! So forget the fact that you can’t swim and read on for the basic things that you should before you start to learn diving.
There are two types of certificate that you could get from choosing to learn diving, there’s the PADI and the NAUI, both of the association would teach you the same types of basics but a little different. PADI is more about tourist attractions spots, diving to see the beautiful underwater lives, and so on, while PADI is more about recreational stuff NAUI on the other hand, focuses on theory, and you would be a scuba diver. In the NAUI learning centers, they would teaches you on how to saves lives under water, and so on, the lessons are pretty much a little tougher, however, both of the certifications is important and you need it before you can actually dive in real ocean. It all comes down to your preference, whether you want to be a PADI or NAUI.
Once you’re through choosing which association you want to belong to, it’s also important to see how committed are you going to be when you learn diving. Some people are just too excited that they run out and buy all the equipments even before they know whether or not they are going to make it through the process. We are not saying that diving is hard, but buying just a few basic equipments like snorkel or breathing tubes are fine, they are like motivation. However, most of the dive learning centers would probably provide you the suit, the tank, the fins, you name it. Get yourself through school first before you waste money on equipments.
Diving lessons are usually with different courses and timings depending on each learning center, some of them takes a couple of days, one day for theory, one day for practice, and then off you go to take the open water test, after you’ve passed the written test that is. Many tourist attraction spots also offers diving lessons but keep in mind that these are very basic, therefore, if you’re interested in learning a deeper level of dive like free diving, wreck diving, and etc. you would most likely need to find a good dive instructor, take more lessons in order to master your skill.
